Thando Kunene (she/they) is a passionate advocate for inclusion, belonging, and equity in the workplace, with nearly 10 years of experience championing these values across the nonprofit, higher education, and technology sectors. Trained as a clinical social worker with a Master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Thando brings a holistic approach to creating environments where all individuals can thrive.

Her professional journey reflects a commitment to dismantling barriers and fostering belonging for underrepresented communities. As someone living with several non-visible disabilities, Thando’s advocacy is informed by her personal experiences navigating workplace dynamics. She is deeply passionate about empowering others to embrace their full identities, equipping them with strategies for self-advocacy, and creating more inclusive spaces through collective action. Thando is honored to share her insights on this panel and is committed to advancing a culture of equity and belonging through both her work and her advocacy.

Currently, she serves as the Inclusion and Diversity Program Manager at Juniper Networks where she manages talent development and retention programs center inclusion, diversity, and belonging. She resides in Minneapolis, MN with her husband and dog.
